Long ago, in a small town, a baby was born, His parents naming HIm Jesus. He was the prophesied Messiah, the Son of God and Man, the Christ. He died to save us and rose again to give us eternal life in Him.
When most people think of the 1st Christmas gift, their mind goes to a manger in Bethlehem. But the story doesn't start there.
It begins with a promise to Adam and Eve.
When the first couple sinned, God punished them, cursing humanity with death. He cursed the serpent to crawl on its belly and Eve with pain in childbirth. And after the punishment, God gave a gift. A gift of healing and restoration through the Son of Man. The promise of eternity in the presence of God. He gave us a way back to Him.
So, long before Bethlehem and the virgin birth, before the promise to David, before the promise to Abraham and Isaac, came the first Christmas gift in the form of a promise.
