An Elven maid,

In summer's glade,

Looks over Lingerlong.

A shining knight,

In dimming light,

Listens to her song.

Her hair unbound,

Her life-song found,

Looking o'er Lingerlong.

She turns about,

And then cries out,

"Do not tarry long!"

The knight turns fast,

But, ware! Alas!

Enchanting Lingerlong,

Holds tight the knight,

For eternal night,

Because of Elven song.

The elf's fair face

Looks o'er the place,

Described as Lingerlong,

Where man and elf,

Have lost themself,

Deep in Elven song.

So do not listen,

Beware the glisten,

Of the place Lingerlong.

Else you fall prey,

And always stay,

Trapped in Lingerlong.
