Frightful Corgi: A Poem

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

[My family and I watch a friend's Corgi often and one of the last visits provided inspiration.]

The pillow thrown upon the floor,

The blanket nest arranged just so,

All of this is needful for,

The survival of one who is below,

The gaze of frightful Corgi.

The pillow fluffed and set so neat,

The blanket twisted, pulled, and nudged,

Arranged for those four feet.

And yet the servant is still judged,

By the one still frightful Corgi.

The hair so fair and so fine,

Is ever on my mind.

The fluffel balls are in a shrine,

The worship is never declined,

By that one frightful Corgi.

The gaze is fierce,

The bark is bold,

The claws will pierce,

Or so I’m told,

Of one such frightful Corgi.

The cute, perked ears,

The fluffy butt,

Will bring some tears,

To one who’s seen the prideful strut,

Of that one so frightful Corgi.

The patter of feet,

To answer their name,

It makes complete,

The call of fame,

To the frightful Corgi.
