The mouse scurried across the floor. Angela screamed. “There are mice in there, Jacon!”
“Don’t be a scaredy cat. Come on!” Jacon practically dragged his sister into the secret tunnel.
“Fine!” Angela said, walking carefully down the musty tunnel.
Jacon followed behind. Together they walked down the tunnel until they reached a fork in it.
“Hmm. How odd!” Angela exclaimed, looking at the fork.
“I guess someone ate their lunch here or something. Let’s keep going,” Jacon replied, throwing the fork behind him.
The two walked further. Soon they found the end of it.
Angela screamed as she slipped on the slick floor by the large waterfall.
Jacon thought fast. His arm shot out and grabbed Angela’s arm before she fell into the misty abyss.
“I’m gonna slip!” Angela cried.
“No-you-won't,” Jacon grunted, trying to heave his younger sister up.
“Your hand is slipping!” Angela felt like crying.
“I won’t let it slip! Do you trust me?” Jacon asked, looking into his sister’s eyes.
“Yes, I trust you,” Angela replied.
There was a crack. Jacon looked at where he was bent down. Large cracks were scattered all over it. It wouldn’t hold them for long.
Jacon made a split second decision. He heaved his sister up and pushed her to the side that wasn’t cracked.
“I love you, Angie,” He said, as he slipped off the edge and fell into the waterfall.
