A Different Age

Updated: Jan 24, 2022

Recently one of my friends said that they wished they had been born in the 1600s. Sometimes I agree with them. But as I thought about it, I realized I need to do the best with what I have been given. God placed me in this age for a reason.

If I had been born in the 1600s, chances are, I wouldn't have been able to read. (Horror!) I would be unable to spread the Gospel through this blog and my writing.

This "age", especially 2020, has been difficult. I get it. COVID-19, presidential elections, and quarantining have made this last year one for the history books. Unique difficulties have made us think about what is going on.

I, for one, want to change the world around me. I don't want my kids and grandkids to have to face the problems I faced last year. I want this age to be one of spiritual growth and change for the better.

So how can we change this age? Tell me in the comments or contact me with ideas! Any great ideas, I'll be sure to publish. Ask your friends for more ideas as well!

First of all, I was just thinking recently that I belong in another age! So this is a good reminder that we belong in this age and should do our best in it.

As for ideas, um, I'm not good with those. But people in this age--at least in modern, developed nations--are often so taken up with themselves and their phones that they don't care about anyone else and their struggles. So I guess an idea for bettering this age is to look around yourself, see who's hurting and needing help, encouragement, and love, and give them some! Even if it's only a smile to someone you see in the store, or a compliment or cheery greeting to the cashier…

Thanks for your response! I agree that sometimes its just the small things in life, like a smile, that can make our day go so much better.
